Watchmen serve as guards in towns and are second-tier mercenaries. They can randomly be found and hired in a tavern.

Tactics

Watchmen are very cheap troops that can easily be upgraded overnight into caravan guards if you invest in the training skill or train them at training fields.

For use on the battlefield, Watchmen are a very hard unit to command. With low-level armor and weapons, these can be good or bad units depending on how they're used. They are best used against looters or bandits, but your best bet for Watchmen is to upgrade them to Caravan Guards as fast as possible. They are a good starter troop, though.
