Valtis was one of the three pre-made characters showcased in Mount&Blade II: Bannerlord's Gamescom 2018 demo alongside Alijin and Brogomir.
Biography[]
- Early Life
Valtis grew up on the southern frontiers of the Empire. He signed up for the legions at a young age and was trained as a specialist. Though the legions disintegrated with the collapse of the Empire, his skills - particularly the siege engineering for which imperial armies were famous - are still in demand. He has joined the growing cadre of mercenaries who wander from court to court, offering their talents to the highest bidder.
- Later Life
Valtis did well as a soldier of fortune, escorting caravans from town to town, and soon he was able to finance his own trading ventures. He also did the occasional favor for local notables on the other side of the law, from gang leaders to bedouins, which may explain why local bandit attacks often afflict his competitors' caravans rather than his own. His reputation and fortune made, he befriended the Aserai sultan and accepted an emirship in their lands. Though not the greatest warrior in the south, his wealth allows him to field an exceptionally large and well-equipped contingent. He never forgets a favor, or an injury.
Trivia[]
- Valtis, Alijin, and Brogomir can still be found in Bannerlord's game files.
- Given Valtis' ethnicity and his background growing up "on the southern frontiers of the Empire", it is possible he originally belonged to the Eleftheroi.
