The Confederacy of the Rhine, known as "Der Rheinbund" in the game, was a German confederation forged from 16 German nation-states in 1806 that the Grande Armee had invaded in 1803, such as Wurttemberg, Saxony, and Bavaria. The Confederation of the Rhine would supply Napoleon with 61,000 German troops that would help in his 1812 invasion of Russia, and would finally be disbanded on the 30th May 1814, following the Treaty of Paris.
