During a siege, two ladders are placed, one on either side, of the gates. The player spawns behind a bridge, and access to the waterway is blocked by invisible barriers, so the player risks taking heavy losses if he/she joins the siege. It might be worth ordering the other troops to join the siege without the player's involvement, as losses are then calculated depending on troops only.
Trivia[]
- The full name of Novgorod is now Veliky Novgorod (Великий Новгород), literally "Great Newtown". This change was made in 1999 to differentiate it from Nizhny Novgorod (Нижний Новгород, literally "Lower Newtown"), a larger city on the other side of Moscow.
