The Norse Warrior Archer (Heimthegi) is a third-tier unit of the Norse troop tree in Viking Conquest.

Usage and Analysis

Unlike other modules, due to the numerous numbers of shielded troops, one could say that archers have a lesser impact. The Norse Warrior Archer however, being one of the best archers in the game, can make an impact though they will mostly chip away the lesser armored troops (up to level 3). This unit can also hold their own in melee (due to their shield and medium armor).

You should use them as a separate group (the "archers" group) and keep them at least 2-3 paces from your shieldwall, to the side or otherwise if in sufficient numbers, encompassing the shield wall (in an arc), using a as loose as a formation is possible.
