I have been playing Mount and Blade for a while and feel I know the game pretty well but there is one thing I cannot figure out for the life of me. When I have a large army and fight bandits sometimes 1000+, I start the battle with about 10 units. But when I fight other armies I have the normal amount of units that I have set me settings to. Its really pissing me off and i can't figure out why it happens. If anyone knows why this is happening please for the love of god help me, it would be much appreciated. Thank You. ~ Psyko
- So just to clarify, your army shrinks in size and the bandit armies multiply? I've never heard of such a thing, but it sounds more like a coding error than a setting. Bad code can be caused by:
- A bad download or install, this just happens randomly sometimes. Remedy: reinstall.
- Stray mod files, a poorly designed mod or improper installation of a mod can leave bits of it where they do not belong. Remedy: uninstall and completely delete any M&B folders from your computer, then reinstall.
- A cracked copy of the game, it is fairly well known to game troubleshooters that cracks frequently don't work correctly. Remedy: remove crack and buy a legal version.
- If you do the above and you want to keep your current save, copy the save file and paste it somewhere out of the way while you delete everything else, afterwards, try a new game first to see if it works as your save may be permanently corrupted and unsalvageable. Also, have you used cheats to advance your character's level? While I have not heard of cheating shrinking your own army, it definitely will mess with bandits.
