- Despite being designated 3rd tier infantry, Battanian Raiders lack a shield. This makes them poor choices for a shield-wall, being vulnerable themselves on the front line and leaving gaps in the wall.
- They also make weak shock troops, lacking both heavy armor and two-handed weapons.
- Battanian Raiders perhaps best fit the skirmisher category, although they only have a handful of throwing axes.
- It is best to let them throw their axes, and then protect them until they can upgrade to the more deadly Battanian Falxman.
