Apys is an Archon of the Western Empire and the leader of clan Varros. He is the owner of Ortysia and Garontor Castle, and the husband of Melkea and the father of Eronyx and Jastion. He is considered to be one of the wealthiest men in the Calradic Empire - it has been his money which has backed the efforts of Garios Comnos in the Calradic civil war. It is reported that, should Garios' land reforms go into effect, it is going to be Apys who will profit the most.

According to his Personality Traits, he is Closefisted (Generosity -1), Devious (Honor -1), Cautious (Daring -1), Cruel (Mercy -1), and Calculating (Calculating 1). He has the reputation of being one the most notoriously debauched, unscrupulous, and wealthy members of the Old Imperial Senate.
